USFMMA is proud to announce the addition of Tyler Finch as he moves into the role of Michigan state representative!
Finch started his Martial Arts journey as a freshman in High School as he trained in karate and wrestling. He began to compete in MMA in 2008 and finished his amateur career in 2013 with a record of 15-3 after boasting the title of Welterweight Champion from Michigan’s regional staple Big Johns MMA. Finch also accumulated 3 successful title defenses before ending his personal effort in competing.
Finch then moved his efforts into coaching MMA from his own location in Gaylord, MMA where he saw success with his team in all aspects of combat sports. He remains active in MMA as a senior inspector for USFMMA as well as experience being a judge, referee, event coordinator, timekeeper, locker room inspector and even cage set up crew for a multitude of regional promotions.
USFMMA founder Justin Brown stated “Tyler is an exceptional addition to the USFMMA team and one of the hardest workers at any event I’ve seen him participating! I am confident that his level of dedication and experience will serve as a great asset to help advance athlete safety and standardized regulation in combat sports within the state of Michigan.”
Finch will have direct oversite for all USFMMA sanctioning efforts for combat sports throughout the state. He will also work as a liaison with the Michigan Unarmed Combat Commission and USFMMA nationally to advance opportunities for athletes, officials and staff from Michigan who wish to move onto the international platform and earn a chance to support or compete for the USA National MMA team around the world!
Lets welcome Tyler to the team!
