Kandris began fighting in 2015 and is one of the few female mixed martial artists in the Grand Strand. Originally from New York, Kandris has lived in North Myrtle Beach for 16 years, helping to run her family’s restaurant.
In 2015, she tried out cardio kickboxing to get in shape and to better learn how to defend herself. However, her competitive drive led her to pursue martial arts more thoroughly. She starting with learning and competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and grappling, IKF kickboxing, and boxing.
In 2016, Kandris made her MMA debut. In a little over two years, she has qualified and competed for the U.S. National Team at the IMMAF – WMMAA International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (2017 & 2018) as well as holding multiple medals in various grappling tournaments and winning Amateur Fight of the Year award for Valor Fighting Challenge .
Kandris prides herself on her work ethic, and ability to overcome adversity while representing her team and supporters in a positive manner. She would like to use these traits to represent her fellow athletes as their representative.
