Mr. Barry O’Neill joins USFMMA as the Regional Sanctioning Rep for Region #7 (SE). Barry was formerly the VA state rep and official with another federation.
O’Neill will be providing guidance in regards to USFMMA sanctioning standards and practices throughout a 5 state region and to ensure compliance with all state reps within his territory.
O’Neill is a retired Special Forces Operator with over 20 years of experience in combat arts training and instruction. He is a certified/licensed official with over a decade of experience coaching and training with high-level mixed martial arts teams in Tennessee, Kentucky, and North Carolina.
As a coach, he has led multiple fight teams and individual fighters to championships. Barry continues to regularly train and coach mixed martial arts and is a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under 3rd Degree Black Belt Ray Casias out of TBJJA.
You may recognize Barry as the head Referee for M-1 Global – USA and many other top promotions in the US. After working as a lead official in the states of TN and VA, he is excited for the opportunity to branch out and support the national efforts of USFMMA.
