Prendergast is originally from Missouri where he graduated from De Smet Jesuit High School. He excelled in HS wrestling with a total record of 88-25-1. He then moved on to wrestle at the NCAA D-1 level for Missouri State University where he amassed a record of 108-46-1. His other collegiate accomplishments at MSU include: NCAA Qualifier (1993 & 1994), NCAA D-I All American Wrestler (1993), MSU Career Pins Leader 34 & MSU Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee (2007).Prendergast took his talents into competing in Amateur boxing briefly before moving on to the officiating and regulatory side. He has served as a HS wrestling official in Missouri, Arizona and Nevada.
Prendergast got his start in MMA in 2006. He worked as an official for many of the top promotions throughout NV and Missouri before earning a role as the State Sanctioning Rep in NV for Kick International and subsequently the National Sanctioning Director under UMMAF.
He now stays active supporting the United States Fight League (USFL) since 2017-Present where he serves as the senior sanctioning official in the state of FL, helping to develop youth competition.
