Master Schirmer began his martial arts training in the early 1960s with boxing, wrestling, judo, Taekwondo, submission grappling and Jiu-Jitsu. Honored into the Hall of Fame for competing internationally in many disciplines for over four decades.A black belt, Master Schirmer received his ninth degree in a two-hour thirty-minute test. 16 grandmasters of multiple disciplines from around the world gathered to witness the multitude of techniques as required.
The Chicagoan was also a high-level professional fighter himself, having had matches against some of the biggest names in the industry including Carlson Gracie Jr.
Master Schirmer founded Combat-Do Cicero and Combat-Do Princeton. His system based on the principles of science, physics, geometry, kinesiology, and nerve science has proven itself over and over with many world champions across MMA, Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, wrestling, and kickboxing.
The Combat-Do team has traveled the globe and won countless titles. He has coached athletes from the start of their careers up and into the UFC, Titan Fighting Championship, and Brave Combat Federation.
Master Schirmer is a former Recon Marine, police officer, defensive tactics instructor, and the director of the Police Athletic League MMA division. He has trained IMMAF – International Mixed Martial Arts Federation gold medalists for several previous national teams. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the USFMMA.
